Product Information

Because our jewelry is hand made from recycled paper, each bead is completely unique. Variations in the size and color of our jewelry items reflect the uniqueness of the woman who made them.

Starting in October 2009, our Beaders began using silver plated clasps – toggles and “S” clasps – on all of our BeadforLife necklaces.

BeadforLife has collaborated with a Ugandan chemist who developed and is now producing an eco-friendly and odorless acrylic-based sealant called Mukisa Blue. As of October 2009, all BeadforLife beads are finished with this new sealant that creates a beautiful shine. 

Caring for your Beads

Storing Your Beads:

To preserve the beauty of your BeadforLife jewelry we recommend that you store your items out of direct sunlight either hanging or laid flat. 

Fixing a Bent or Stiff Necklace:

During the shipping process our BeadforLife Necklaces can become slightly bent or stiff.  If you notice your necklace is not laying flat, gently massage the string back into place by pulling lightly along the entire length of the necklace until the kink is worked out. 

Water Resistance:

Our beads are water resistant.  They will not be damaged by normal exposure to moisture, but we do not recommend soaking your beads in water for long periods of time.

BeadforLife proudly stands behinds the products that we sell.  If for any reason you are not 100% satisfied with your order, you may return your items for an exchange or for a refund within 30 days of the shipping date.  Please note, any costs born by BeadforLife to ship your original order will be deducted from the refund amount.

How can I exchange or return my item?

To return or exchange your item(s) please mail them to the address below along with a detailed note explaining exactly how you would like us to process your exchange or return. We ship our exchanges through USPS first class mail.

Can I alter or custom order an item?

All of our items are made and assembled by our beaders in Uganda. For that reason we are not able to custom order or alter our items.

What should I do if my item breaks?

If your item breaks, send the broken item back to us as an exchange (see instructions above).  Because all of our items are hand made from recycled paper, each item is unique.  We will do our best to find a replacement that matches the original item as closely as possible.

Can you repair broken jewelry?

Because all of our items are made in Uganda we are not able to do repairs on jewelry.  However, we will do our best to replace your broken item with one that matches it as closely as possible.

How do I place an order online?

  • Ordering from our BeadforLife web store is easy. 
  • Select the category of items you would like to purchase on the left side of the screen. 
  • Then, you will have options to select the style, the quantity and color of the items you would like to purchase. 
  • When you are ready, you can add the item to your shopping cart by clicking the “Add to shopping cart” button. 
  • From there you can continue shopping or check out. 
  • When you are finished shopping click the “Check Out” button and follow the steps that appear on the screen.  

What if I need to change my order after it has been placed?

All sales are final.  Make sure you look over your order carefully before entering your payment information.

Do you offer alternatives to ordering online?

Yes we do!  If you prefer, you can call us at 303-554-5901 and Toll-free at 888-339-5901 to place your order over the phone.  For store hours go to Contact Us.

Can I place an order and have it shipped internationally?

Yes, we do offer international shipping.  Place your order in the same way and just enter your international shipping address. For more information go to International Shipping.

Can I ship my order to an address other than my billing address?

  • Yes, you can. 
  • When you go to check out, select “I am a returning customer and would like to use my existing account.” 
  • Then check the box at the bottom of the page that says “this will be shipped to a different address.” 
  • You will be prompted to enter the alternative address.

            What types of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, American Express, Mater Card, Discover and PayPal

How do I place an order using PayPal?

  • To place an order using PayPal, you must have an existing PayPal account or be willing to create one as you check out. 
  • When you are checking out, you will be asked how you would like to pay for your order. 
  • Select “PayPal” and then click on “Continue Checkout.” 
  • You will have a chance to review your order. 
  • Then, click on the “Pay Now” button which will take you to a PayPal window. 
  • You have to log in and authorize payment immediately, or your order will be lost.    

Will my credit card information be stored in your system?

No, for security reasons we do not store credit card information for returning customers.

How do I redeem my Gift Certificate?

  • You can redeem your Gift Certificate when you have completed your order and are ready to Checkout
  • When you enter the Checkout page, you will be asked to either Register or Sign In.  
  • There is a box at the bottom of each of these pages which says Do you have a promotion code? This is where you enter your gift certificate number.
  • Your gift certificate number is located in the top right hand corner of your Gift Certificate.

What will my order look like once I enter my Gift Certificate number?

  • The full amount of your gift certificate will be deducted as a credit from your order total.  You may still be asked to enter payment information, but if your total is $0 your card will not be charged. 
  • If you have a balance due, your card will only be charged for the amount remaining after your Gift Certificate is applied. 
  • If you do not spend the full amount of your Gift Certificate, you can contact us and we will be happy to issue a credit for you.

Can I use my Gift Certificate more than once?
No.  Gift Certificates can only be redeemed one time.

When can I expect to receive my order?

All orders are shipped within 10 business days from the date the order is placed.  Please note that all of our orders are shipped through USPS Priority Mail.  Once shipped, domestic packages should arrive within 1 to 5 business days and international packages should arrive within 6 to 10 business days.

  • For orders being shipped to locations within the US
    • The last day to order for USPS Priority Mail is December 17, 2009
    • The last day to order for UPS Two Day is December 20, 2009
  • For most international orders
    • The last day to order is December 7, 2009
  • For orders being shipped to Africa, or Central and South America
    • The last day to order is December 1, 2009

Do these dates apply to phone and mail orders as well?

  • Yes they do!!  All orders must be placed by the dates above to guarantee delivery in time for Christmas.

How can I create a new account?

  • From the store home page go to “Access Your Account” and click on “Register.” You will be prompted to set up your account.
  • OR, you can create an account when you are done shopping.  Just go to “Check Out” and select “I am a new customer and I would like to sign up and create an account.”

How can I change my name, address or account information?

  • Go to “Access Your Account”
  • Click on “Account Information”
  • Enter your email address and password

How can I change my billing information?

  • When you place your next order you will have the opportunity to change your billing information. 
  • Go to check out, select that you are a returning customer and then check the box for “Change billing information”

How can I view the status of my order?

  • Go to “Access Your Account” and click on “Account Information”
  • Enter your email address and password
  • Your order information will be listed 
  • Click the date of the order whose status you wish to view

What if I forget my password?

  • Go to “Access Your Account” and click on “Lost Password”
  • Enter your name and email address

At this time, sales tax is only added to orders shipped to a Colorado address.

Credit Card Security

  • For security reasons Credit Card information is not stored for returning customers.
  • Shipping online at our store is very safe.  We use industry standard SSL (Secure Socket Layer) software that encrypts all of the data sent to us so that only your web browser and the server of our web site can decipher it.
  • You can tell you are using the SSL encryption when a gold or blue padlock appears in the corner of your web browser.

  • We will not sell or disclose any information that identifies you to a third party.
